| Vacation |

My girl-owner and boy-owner left me alone for a very long time. They called it "vacation" and said it is when they go somewhere else for awhile. I don't think I like vacation. I missed them very much!
But, they are home again, and I am very happy. So happy that I have even slept in the bed for a few nights just to let them know how much I missed them.
They keep talking about a "friend" for me, I am not quite sure what that is, but I hope I like it. |

My girl-owner got a new camera, so there are lots of new pictures of me. She says I make a very good model, even if I don't sit still or follow directions very well. Here is one of her favorites!

| The Vet |

My owners took me to The Vet today. I don't like it there, and when they brought out my carrying case I knew what that meant. I fought hard but I lost in the end :( Anyway, it wasn't actually a bad trip. They brought me there and put me in a little basket, and then I got to come home. They bought me treats there too.
Apparently, I have been a very good kitty because now I only weigh 16lb 4.5 oz. My girl-owner was very proud of me. That means I have lost nearly 2 lb since I first started my diet, and about a pound and a half since my annual check-up in February. Yay!
Also, I might be getting a friend soon. I just have to convince my owners it is really a good idea and that I won't scare my new friend away.
Also, it was nearly 80 degrees today and I got to play outside. |

I had something yummy for dinner tonight... crispy pizza crust! My girl-owner didn't think I would actually *eat* it, so she let me play with the leftover crust. I sure fooled her! |

I know you have been missing me! My boy-owner just went away to a place called "New York" for almost three weeks, so it was just me and my girl-owner. We had a lot of fun together! I tried to eat her dinner, and meowed at her a lot to try to get her to give me more food. I even jumped on the counter and the table to see what I could find. Sometimes I slept with her but a lot of times I slept on the couch in the living room just in case my boy-owner came home early.
On Friday, my girl-owner told me that my boy-owner would be home that night, but then he didn't come home. She said there was a lot of snow so his flight was cancelled. I don't really understand why snow would mean his flight was cancelled, we have had snow here before and it is just a little cold but not too bad. She said there was a lot of it. I don't know if I believe her! But, my boy-owner finally got home late last night so I'm happy again! |

| Happy Birthday to Me (Belated) |

My owners are a little slow with the picture-uploading. I celebrated my 4th birthday back in January and they only just uploaded the pictures for me to share with you.
My birthday was on the 27th but we didn't celebrate until the 28th because my owners were "skiing". They do that a lot! I miss them when they go "skiing" but they do give me lots of love when they are here so it's okay. For Christmas, they bought me an automatic feeding machine so I still get my food twice a day even when they are gone. I like it! Now if only I could figure out how to make it give me more food all the time!
For my birthday, I got a little scoop of vanilla ice cream. I thought it was okay, but nothing special. Maybe next year they'll try a different brand (it was Hagen-Dazs this year).
Here is me, eating my special birthday ice cream again. Do you see how fuzzy my collar is? I got it for Christmas! It was only a month old when this picture was taken. Needless to say, my owners got me a new collar because this one was just falling apart and I kept getting my paw stuck in it.

My girl-owner made me put my feet in this stuff today. It looked interesting at first but then I realised it was cold and wet. I didn't like it. |

I know it has been awhile but I have been a very busy kitty. The weather has been nice so I have been sitting in windows, playing outside, etc.
I have discovered some new favorite foods - I like bagels, pita bread and spaghetti. Yum!
Here are some new pictures - of course I am adorable as usual!
This is my eye. Isn't it a beautiful shade of green?
Also, I like to lie on my side and hold up my paws. However, that does NOT mean I like you to rub my belly!
Isn't my nose distinguished? (That's just a shadow, not a big black booger!)
I may have gained a few ounces but I still fit in my bed! I prefer to sleep in it after my owners get out of the big bed though. |

It's been awhile since I've had a chance to write anything here. It has been very hot and I have not felt like doing anything at the computer. I just like to lie around all day.
My girl-owner got worried about me being hot and she put something called an "ice cube" into my water dish. It floated! I was going to play with it after I finished eating my food but when I went to play with it, it was gone. Very strange!

| Vaca-what? |

My owners went away for a long time. They said it was a "vacation" to somewhere called "Cape Cod". I don't really know what a vacation is, I am not sure I have ever had one. I also don't know anything about Cape Cod. I do know that my boy-owner's parents took care of me while my owners were gone. They were very good to me and brought me straws and petted me a lot.
It has been very hot lately, too. Sometimes my owners take me outside but other times I try to go outside by myself and my owners get mad at me. I wonder if they will ever trust me outside! I like to lie in the sun, my fur gets very warm and it is wonderful.
There is a very large dog next door but so far I am just ignoring it. I did spray all over a bush outside this weekend, though, so hopefully that dog will know this is MY home!

| It's Bathtime |

My owners have decided that I smell funny. I think I smell fine but they disagree. Also, my boy-owner seems to possibly be allergic to me. My girl-owner might be allergic to my boy-owner's parents' cat Zoë but she's not allergic to me. Anyway, they thought a bath might help with the smells and the allergies, so they gave me a bath. It was a frightful experience but I think I behaved very well. I only tried to get out of the tub a few times and I didn't even yowl at all.

| Happy Easter (two days late) |

So I am finally updating again - it is hard to get my girl-owner to share her computer!
The weather has been so nice lately, I like to sit in the sun. My fur gets all warm and it just feels lovely. When it is especially warm out my owners even open the sliding door for me. That way I can smell the birds and the trees (my girl-owner says I get to smell exhaust too but I don't know what that is) and scare away the squirrels too. I am hoping one day my owners will open the sliding door and then leave me alone with the screen - I am sure I can get it open if I just try hard enough!
My boy-owner has been gone lately, he went to a place he calls "New York City". He told me it is very far away. While he is gone I have been sleeping with my girl-owner and being extra nice to her. My boy-owner came back this weekend, and it was nice to play with him again. He left again on Sunday though.
The other day I got to go outside! My girl-owner was not paying enough attention when she was taking out the rubbish and recycling and she didn't close the door well enough. I used my super kitty powers to open the door and I went outside! Too bad it was raining. I didn't leave the patio because I didn't want to get wet, and my girl-owner caught me and brought me back inside. Darn!!
Now that it is warmer out, I am also shedding a lot. My owners got me a very nice brush to use in addition to the good comb we already had, and they brush me a lot. It feels so good, but sometimes if they get too close to my side or belly where I don't like to be brushed I have to attack the brush and tell it to behave.
I hope all of you had a good Easter. I don't know what Easter is, but I got an extra portion of wet food to celebrate, so I think I like Easter! |

| An Update; New Toys |

My girl-owner's brother told her I don't update enough. I would just like to let you know that it isn't my fault! She hardly ever lets me use her computer anymore. I can't use it when she isn't here to supervise me, and she has a "job" now. I'm not sure what a "job" is but it means she is gone all day long!
I got a new toy to replace one of my favourites, a catnip-filled hemp mouse. It was starting to come apart and was really pretty ragged so I am glad that my girl-owner noticed and got me a new one! It's almost the same except it is blue instead of green. I also got a new toy from my boy-owner's mom. She likes to come visit me. This toy is a nice soft grey mouse and it squeaks! I have to work very hard with this toy, just when I think I have killed it it starts squeaking again! Some day I will conquer it.
My boy-owner's parents have a cat. They got their cat a cat-bed, but she does not like it, so they gave it to me instead. I like it very much. My owners put it on my chair so now I have a cozy fleece bed to curl up in. It is stuffed and is very heavy too. Last night, my boy-owner got up in the middle of the night and picked up my bed (with me in it!) and put it on his bed. My girl-owner woke up a little bit later and was very confused, she was trying to figure out how I had managed to get my bed from the chair to the big bed. Silly her!!

| Visitors; Straws; Smelly Cat; Outside |

My boy-owner's parents came to visit me the other night! His mom brought me presents!! She brought me a lot of straws. I really like playing with straws, they are fun to chase.
Some of the straws still had paper wrapped around them and I was really enjoying getting it off. Unfortunately my boy-owner said I was making a big mess and so he took the straws away from me and took the paper off himself. He just likes to ruin all of my fun!
Lately I have been making a lot of bad smells in my litterbox. I don't know why but my girl-owner says maybe it is the canned food I have been having for my treats this week. She is not really sure how long canned food lasts when it is in the fridge, because it does not say on the can. She is going to get me some different food to try to see if it helps.
I have been getting very interested in the outdoors lately. I like to sit at the windows and look out, and I sniff around the door a lot too. Sometimes I try to sneak out when my owners are not looking but they always catch me. Oh well - it's scary out there, and very noisy. |

| New toy!!! |

Hi everyone!
This past week I have found a new favorite toy. It is a straw. My owners went "skiing" last week, which is human-code for "leaving poor Tomás alone ALL DAY". When they got back, the male owner had a cylinder-shaped device that had a straw protruding from the top - I'm not entirely sure what the contraption was used for, but male owner kept putting the straw in his mouth and making slurping noises. Anyway, he played with it for a while and finally sat down at the computer and ignored the cylinder-shaped device next to him. I was really curious about this contraption, so I walked up to it, stretched out, and pushed it! The owners laughed at me, and then laughed even HARDER when the device fell over and hit me in the face - I was SO terrified I had to run into the hall in case the device struck again. The owners were still laughing, and boy owner picked up the "cup" (as he called it) and gave it to me. I sniffed at it, and pushed it around the hall for a few minutes. The "straw" fell out but the owners did not notice, so they left it when they picked up the "cup". I played with it a bit, and realized that it could be a very fun toy! However, I keep losing it under the couch, in the crack by the door, and under the laundry room door. It's exceedingly annoying! Boy owner is nice and he always seems to know when the straw is missing and can always find it right away.
Overall, life is pretty good. However, the second bedroom is really messy this week. Girl owner usually sits there and works on her computer and I like to sit with her, but this week there is a lot of stuff around her and I can't always get a comfy seat. I wish she would clean up all her stuff so I could sit with her again! |

| I'm baaackk! |

Sorry it's been so long since I updated! I have been very busy sitting in a sunny patch on the carpet, playing with my new favourite toy (a straw - go figure. It's pink and it makes fun noises), getting in my owners' way and learning a new trick!
My owners only give me a little bit of food each day. They measure it out in the morning and that is all the food I get all day. They keep it in a cup and pour a little bit into my dish all day long. What I didn't realise until now is that they don't put the cup with the rest of that day's food away, they just leave it on the counter top!
Well today they abandoned me all day (to do a thing called 'skiing' - I don't know what it is, but they wake up early and make a lot of noise and then leave me alone for a l-o-n-g time), and I learned how to jump up on the tall counter and knock over the cup of food. My owners think I am silly because I went to all of that work and then didn't even finish all of the food - but I am trying to show them that I won't eat all of my food at the same time and maybe they will start to give me more food. I'm not sure it is working though.
The other thing I like to do is check to make sure that my owners have really gone to bed before I curl up on my chair to sleep. Once they are all tucked into bed, I jump up on the end of the bed, meow at them and make sure they are both there, then jump off the side of the bed and curl up on my chair. They call me silly then, too. I think THEY are silly!
